The industry climate in Kista Science City – dynamic and influential

Within Kista Science City* lives 120 000 people, 65 000 people work, 1100 people are researching and 5000 are studying at university level.

Over 4000 companies are present in the area of which 525 are working within the information and communication technology (ICT). Internationally is Kista Science City compared with Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Sophia Antipolis and Multimedia Supercorridor in Malaysia.

In Kista is Sweden’s largest inhouse galleria with over 125 stores and 33 restaurants. The Galleria also holds one of Sweden’s biggest cinemas with 11 theatres and 1500 seats. The Galleria is visited by approximately 13 million visitors a year.

The amount of residents are expected to increase by 20 000-40 000 people and university students tripled. In Kista Science City there will then be 150 000 people living, 120 000 working and 15 000 studying.**
